MoMA PS1
Custom Installation Services

MoMA PS1 is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit contemporary art institutions in the US, devoting its energy and resources to displaying the most experimental art in the world. Proud of our on-going relationship, most recently LTI provided construction and construction management services for Hórama Rama, by Ana Paula Ruiz Galindo and Mecky Reuss of Pedro & Juana, the 2019 winner of The Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1’s annual Young Architects Program.

This temporary installation features a 40-foot-high, 90-foot-wide cyclorama with a panoramic image of a jungle landscape on scaffolding that sits above the PS1 courtyard. Wooden “bristles” protruding from the structure's exterior, together with a functioning waterfall and artisanal hammocks create a unique sense of place and an experiential refuge from the City.

For our first installation project, LTI was selected to build Weaving the Courtyard,
Escobedo Solíz Studio's winning design in MoMA PS1's 17th annual Young Architects Program. This temporary installation included a reflective wading pool, a viewing platform and a colorful overhead canopy made entirely of ropes.
